Structure Tone was selected to carry out the comprehensive CAT B fit-out on the 12th floor of 240 Blackfriars, which included the strip-out of the existing fit-out, as well as elements of the MEP services.
This project aimed to create a welcoming and versatile London office space for MongoDB, a global software solutions company that has experienced significant growth. Despite challenges such as structural constraints due to a post-tension slab and a delayed lease agreement, the team successfully completed the 12,000 sqft office space. The new office includes a welcome area, open-plan workstations, boardrooms, a café, training rooms, and collaboration spaces that make the most of the stunning 12th-floor views.
Special features of the project include a parents’ room with music facilities and a focus on sustainability by reusing existing materials where possible. To accommodate the noisy working hours and limited access to the building’s goods lift, we protected staircases, lobby areas and coordinated closely with tenants to minimise disruptions.
The project was delivered on time, providing MongoDB with a modern and functional office space that encourages collaboration and future expansion.
